Because we strongly believe that environmental responsibility is
everyone's responsibility…we at notsoldseparately (NSSC)
would like to introduce you to our very own Green Team.
In order to raise awareness in our staff about the significance and
importance of our campaign we thought what better way to motivate them
to Go Green than to offer them a little bit of Green itself.
Green for Green is what we like
to call our friendly office challenge. This promises the first 5
employees that contribute by purchasing a hybrid vehicle a check for
$2,000.00 towards their purchase.
To everyone's surprise there are now hybrids to match almost any
need: two-door, four-door, SUV, luxury sedan. They get better mileage
than their conventional counterparts, have cleaner emissions, and save
money on gas. So this was obliviously an offer that most could not
refuse.
As another incentive to Go Green, NSSC decided to conserve
energy by replacing some of our older computers and servers.
As you all know, notsoldseparately is a company that is run completely by
geeks and computers, so letting go was no easy task. NSSC has
consolidated 8 out of 25 servers into 3 which equals 5 servers worth of energy
conservation.
In addition, we're in the process of recycling
several monitors, pc's and batteries. What a difference this made!
Not only have we reduced our watts of energy used by a substantial
amount but we even created a little bit more space to store all of our
geeky knick-knacks. Looks like Going Green is not a difficult
transition after all.
